According to District Attorney Ben David, the driver of the truck, Matthew Deans, 28 of Wilmington, is now charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, as well as failure to reduce speed and failure to wear a seat belt. The call came in just after noon Saturday about a multiple-car wreck at the intersection of Highway 17 and Sloop Point Loop Road. As the truck approached stopped traffic at Sloop Point Loop Road, the driver failed to reduce speed resulting in a chain-reaction crash involving the truck and three other vehicles.
The Jaws of Life were used to remove the toddler, Dobbs Eddings, and his pregnant mother, Hadley Eddings, from the first vehicle hit by the truck.
Troopers say Dobbs was killed in the crash. Hadley, who was eight months pregnant, gave birth to her new son Reed via caesarian section while in the hospital. The church's spokesperson went on to say Gentry has been released from the hospital and Hadley is still recovering from her injuries and C-section.

Ashley Marie Oliver, 28, of San Jose was driving north in the southbound lanes just after 2 a. Oliver was arrested on charges of felony driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter after she was released from the hospital, Lee said. A CHP officer spotted Oliver's Chrysler minivan driving in the wrong direction and turned around to follow, but the van collided head-on with a Toyota Corolla before he caught up to the driver.
Three others were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but authorities said they were not life-threatening. The Fremont teen who was killed was sitting in the backseat behind the driver and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Armando was a football player for Washington High and was remembered as a funny, caring friend with a promising future, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched to help his family pay for funeral services.
